چکیده
The aim of this study was to evaluate the activity some oxidative enzymes in three genotypes maize namely (Baghdad, 5018, Sara) under sowing dates: (26July, 4August and 12August) denote (D1, D2 D3). A field experiment conducted at College Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University Baghdad/Al- Jadriya for fall season 2021- 2022, factorial using randomized blocks (RCBD) with replicates. Significant differences were found among number grains row, kernels ear. results showed that superiority genotype (Baghdad) characteristic Tasseling Silking flowering 50%, plant yield averages 58.89d, 62.89d 164.6g, respectively. While (Sara) superior weight 100 kernels, an average 27.34g. Genotype (5018) gave highest value Catalase (CAT) Peroxidase (POD) enzyme, which 2.16 u/mg 0.51 u/mg, respectively, while Superoxide dismutases (SODs), 50.15u/mg (D1) increase most traits averages, especially (50% tasseling 65.00d),(50% 68.00d),(weight reached 26.91g) (POD enzyme 0.56 u/mg). (D3) 162.1g, CAT 2.54u/mg SOD 57.34u/mg.

CO(2) Compensation Concentration in Maize (Zea mays L.) Genotypes.
Heichel and Musgrave (4, 5) reported photosynthetic rates of maize genotypes ranging from 21 to 85 mg CO2 dmhr-' which were inversely associated with similar large differences in CO2 compensation concentration of from 9 to 25 plll. Since genotypic differences of the magnitude reported by Heichel and Musgrave would be of great value in breeding for increased photosynthetic efficiency, we conduct...
متن کاملMaize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملMaize (Zea mays L.) Genotypes Diversity Study by Utilization of Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) Markers
Analysis of the extent and distribution of genetic diversity in crop plants is essential for optimizing sampling and breeding strategies. Several methods were identified for the existence of diversity in maize for the aim of perfect selection based on great diversity among maize genotypes. In this study, Inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers were used to assess genetic diversity in a sele...
متن کاملBanding Patterns Activity of Antioxidant Enzymes and Physiological Indices in the Maize (Zea mays L.) Genotypes under Water Deficit Stress
Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Various environmental stresses, especially water deficit stress have several and major effects on maize growth and production. Drought is one of the abiotic stresses that due to the great variety of rainfall conditions, it is known from Iran as the most important factor limiting the growth and production of crops. Therefore, the effect of water def...
متن کاملAlterations in Carbohydrate Intermediates in the Endosperm of Starch-Deficient Maize (Zea mays L.) Genotypes.
Metabolite levels in kernels of selected starch-deficient mutants of maize (Zea mays L.) were investigated to gain insight into partitioning of carbohydrate metabolism during kernel development. Several free sugars, hexose phosphates, triose phosphates, fructose-2,6-bisphosphate, and pyrophosphate were measured in normal, shrunken, shrunken-2, amylose extender dull waxy, and brittle genotypes, ...
